Becky’s Dog Retreat & Spa / About
A More Personal Kind of Dog Care
Small by design, personal by nature — the story and philosophy behind
Becky’s.
A Personal Note From Becky
Dogs have always been an
important part of my life.
What began with the love we had for our own dog, Clive, eventually became something much bigger — a place where I could give other people’s dogs the same patience, affection and personal care I would want for my own.
Becky’s Dog Retreat & Spa isn’t meant to be the biggest. It’s meant to be personal.
And when your dog stays with us, I want you to feel comfortable knowing that while you may be away, your dog is surrounded by people who truly care.
— Becky
One Dog Family at a Time
Quality over quantity. Always.
This is one of the most important things that makes Becky’s different. We intentionally keep our boarding extremely limited.
By welcoming one dog family at a time, we’re able to learn your dog’s personality, routines and preferences and give them a level of personal attention that is difficult to provide in a traditional boarding environment.
Meet & Greet
Every Great Stay Begins
With Hello
Before welcoming a new dog for their first stay at Becky’s Dog Retreat & Spa, we begin with a personal Meet & Greet.
We invite you and your dog into our home so you can meet us, see where your dog will be staying and experience the environment for yourself.
Just as importantly, it gives us the opportunity to meet your dog. Because before you trust us with someone you love, we believe we should get to know each other.
Why We Require a Meet & Greet
Every dog is different. Some walk through the door ready to explore. Others need a little more time. Some love constant attention, while others prefer a quiet corner and their favorite bed. The Meet & Greet helps us understand those differences before your dog’s first stay.
Come See Where They’ll
Stay
We want you to feel comfortable with your decision too. During your Meet & Greet, you’ll have an opportunity to see the home where your dog will stay and ask us questions about their care. You’ll see that this isn’t a traditional boarding facility. This is our home.
A Chance for Your Dog to Explore
The Meet & Greet isn’t only for the humans. It’s also your dog’s opportunity to sniff around, explore and begin becoming familiar with us and their surroundings — so their first stay is returning somewhere they’ve already visited rather than walking into a completely unfamiliar environment.
We’ll talk about…
During your visit, we’ll get to know the details that make your dog your dog:
- Your dog’s personality and temperament
- Daily routine
- Feeding schedule
- Sleeping habits
- Exercise and walking routine
- Medications or special care
- Separation anxiety
- Fears or sensitivities
- Escape tendencies
- Likes and dislikes
- Favorite toys and activities
- Anything else that helps us understand your dog
What Should You Bring?
For the Meet & Greet, you don’t need to bring much. Just bring:
- Your dog on a secure leash
- Any important medical or behavioral information
- Your questions
- And, of course, your dog
We’ll take care of the rest.
Making Sure We’re the Right Fit
We’d rather say no than
compromise a dog’s comfort.
Because we welcome only one dog family at a time, it’s important that every dog staying with us is a good fit for our home environment. The Meet & Greet allows us to make that determination together.
Our priority will always be creating a safe, peaceful and comfortable experience for your dog. If we don’t believe our environment is the right fit for a particular dog, we’ll be open about that. We would rather say no to a reservation than compromise a dog’s comfort or safety.
After the Meet & Greet
If everyone feels comfortable moving forward, we’ll explain the next steps and help you prepare for your dog’s first stay.
You’ll know where your dog will be staying. Your dog will know us. And we’ll already know a little about what makes your dog your dog.
That familiarity can make the first stay easier for everyone.
Our Commitment to You
Safety. Comfort. Trust.
Personal attention.
Policies are important, but they are only one part of the relationship. We want you to feel comfortable asking questions, telling us about your dog’s needs and communicating with us openly.
The more we know about your dog, the better we can care for them. That’s what everything here is designed to protect.
